Shrey is a senior pursuing Biomedical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. During the past 4 years, Shrey has ventured into 3 different research labs focusing on making early-detection platform for breast cancer cells, optimizing fabrication of bio- imaging agents called quantum dots for single-molecule imaging, and conjugating hafnium nanoparticles for anti-cancer drug delivery. He’s also had the opportunity to create his own start-up called Eevaa focused on improving female student security on college campus. Additionally, he’s worked with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to design a digital steering wheel for safer transition into autonomous cars, and worked as a student consultant for Fortune 500 companies to increase business process efficiencies and customer discovery.
I come from a single-income family, and most of my family’s savings were exhausted by this year since it’s been 4 years of them trying to support my college education. This scholarship will definitely relieve some financial burden on me and my family for one last semester and allow me to completely immerse in one last semester of learning without worrying about where the funds would come from for every month installment.
